Site glitch delays Ryan ticket distribution

Many people lined-up Monday morning at the Mesa County Victory Center to get tickets to hear Paul Ryan and other GOP candidates speak at Brownson Arena this afternoon.

A glitch in the website for ticket registration to the Paul Ryan Victory Event shortly delayed ticket distribution this morning at the Mesa County Victory Center.

Those waiting in line at 9 a.m. were forced to wait less than an hour before the site began working again, said Ruth Ehlers, chairman of the Mesa County Republicans.

“It’s important to note that no one was turned away,” Ehlers said.

Those who couldn’t wait can use the website at to print their own ticket or choose the nonticket line at the event.

“We’ve been assured that everyone who wants to go will get in,” Ehlers said.

Event organizers expect about 3,000 people to attend the event this afternoon, but have enough room at the arena to seat up to 5,000.

The doors will open at 3:30 p.m. at Brownson Arena at Colorado Mesa University, however, Ehlers suggests that attendees arrive early. A shuttle from Lincoln Park will begin at 4 p.m. to help solve parking issues, Ehlers said.

“We are very excited,” she added, “We expect that he will discuss the economy and the budget. And, we hope he recognizes the coal, oil and gas industries in Mesa County.”
