Child injured after another child accidentally fires rifle
Mesa County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating an alleged accidental discharge of a firearm that happened Thursday evening, and police say that a 7-year-old boy was shot by another child in the home.
Deputies responded to 3220 E Hall Court, Apt G, in Clifton last night after 8 p.m., on the report of an illegally discharged .22-caliber rifle. The boy shot in the incident is reported to have suffered a non-life threatening injury as a result, was treated at Community Hospital and released overnight, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
