GJ Mavs place 4th in Triple Crown

The Grand Junction Mavs 14-under baseball team placed fourth in the Colorado Triple Crown State Championships recently.

The Mavs, who were the No. 9 seed, defeated the No. 2 seed, Loveland Bomb Squad, 8-5 to reach the semifinals. There, the Mavs lost to eventual champion Colorado Springs Falcons.

The Mavs (32-14) won the Western Colorado Baseball Association league title and won the Western Slope Walk-off 16-under tournament. They had four other top 10 tournament finishes.
