Weather changes Palisade schedule
Inclement weather has caused several changes in Palisade High School’s schedule.
The baseball team’s doubleheader today, originally scheduled to be played at Battle Mountain High School, has been moved to Canyon View Park. The first game begins at 1 p.m., the second at approximately 3 p.m.
The Bulldogs’ girls soccer game against Moffat County in Craig was postponed until May 5 because of snow. Friday’s golf tournament at Yampa Valley Golf Course in Craig was also scrubbed.
Quickstix tournament starts today
Grand Valley Lacrosse is hosting the third annual Quickstix youth lacrosse tournament today and Sunday at Canyon View Park.
More than 45 teams from the region are expected to compete on teams for boys in grades 2-8 and girls in grades 6-8. The boys tournament will run both days, the girls on Sunday.
On May 5-7, Grand Valley Lacrosse will host the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference championship tournament at Walker Field at Mesa State College. Ten Division I and II men’s teams will play, with the championship games on May 7. Tickets are $5 per day for adults, $3 for college students with school IDs and $1 for youth under 18. Mesa State is not a member of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference, which is made up of primarily club teams. Colorado, Colorado State, Utah and Brigham Young will compete in the Division I bracket.
