Fruita’s Sears places eighth at

National Downhill Championships

Noah Sears placed eighth in the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Downhill Championships on Saturday in Granby.

The 27-year-old from Fruita finished his time-trial run in 2 minutes, 49.89 seconds in the Men’s Category 1 age 25-29 division. The winner finished in 2:40.28.

Blake Treadway of Grand Junction took 10th place in the Downhill Men’s Category 1 age 30-34 division in 2:58.76. Aaron Braggs of Moab finished second in the Downhill Men’s Category 1 age 35-39 division in 2:47.33. The winner finished in 2:45.85.

Roy Kemp of Grand Junction competed in the Cross-country race and placed 11th in the Men’s Category 2 age 45-49 division. Drake Urigen of Fruita competed in the Men’s Category 1 age 17-18 division, but did not finish.
