Bingaman is RMAC golfer of week

Brandon Bingaman is the RMAC men’s golfer of the week.

The Colorado Mesa University junior and Fruita Monument graduate led after two rounds in the Pikes Peak Classic earlier this week and finished second.

His second-round 69 tied for a tournament low and he led the entire field with 16 birdies.

In the first two tournaments of the season, Bingaman has a first-place finish and a second-place finish.

College Tennis

The Nebraska-Kearney women’s tennis team won five singles matches and two doubles matches Thursday to defeat Colorado Mesa 7-2 in a nonconference dual in Kearney, Neb.

Mesa senior Kaitlan Sera rallied to defeat Kearney’s Britni Norfolk 3-6, 6-4, (10-7) at No. 2 singles. Sera and her twin sister, Kelleen, picked up the Mavs’ other victory at No. 1 doubles with a 9-8 (8-6) victory over Vanessa Gunawan and Nickola Messbarger.

Mesa and Kearney play in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional tournament today through Sunday.
