Kindred Michael, Central High School senior

GPA: 4.0

After-school activities: varsity soccer, Student Senate, Perceptions Actively Changed by Teens (PACT), National Honor Society, Legendary Leaders and senior associate at Vanity.

Favorite books: “Island of the Blue Dolphins” by Scott O’Dell, “The Tale of Despereaux” by Kate DiCamillo, and “Flowers for Algernon” by Daniel Keyes.

Favorite TV shows: “Pretty Little Liars,” “Secret Life,” “Teen Mom,” “Rob,” and “Tosh.0.”

Favorite band or musician: I have many.

Parents: Darcy and Troy Michael.

Personal heroes and why: My Aunt Curry Newton and Stevie Palma because they are both strong leaders and always give 100 percent towards everything they do. They never give up and have opened many doors for me to succeed.

Preferred college: Colorado Mesa University, University of Colorado, or Colorado State University.

Preferred career: Accounting or junior high math teacher.

Greatest achievement so far: Earning straight A’s in high school, shaking hands with President Barack Obama, being senior class vice president, making varsity soccer all four years of high school, earning captain for soccer, receiving all-conference for soccer, earning Academic All-State, starting Legendary Leaders, starting a Make-A-Wish fundraiser, which all four high schools participated in, and receiving Alpine Bank student of the month. 

What you’d like to be your next greatest achievement: Graduate from college and buy my own house.


Q: What has been your favorite high school class so far and why?

A: Student Senate, because it has helped me grow as a leader and be more involved.


Q: What do you do for fun when you’re not in class?

A: I like to camp, play soccer, spend time with my family/friends, and watch movies.


Q: What’s the best advice a teacher, coach or parent ever gave you?

A: My P.E. teacher Mrs. Reed always says, “Life’s short. Work hard. Play hard!”


Q: What will you miss about your school after graduation?

A: I’ll miss all my friends, teachers and coaches.

Q: What would you like to do after college?

A: Once I get a degree in accounting or education, I hope to get a good job, so I can buy a house and get married.


Q: If you could spend next summer anywhere in the world, where would you go?

A: Europe.
