Summer of fun at Powderhorn begins with the Mud Dash

Powderhorn Mountain Resort will host a full day of activities on Saturday, June 28, beginning with an obstacle course featuring four, one-mile loops, 11 obstacles and lots of mud.

The Mud Dash utilizes almost all-natural, on-mountain resources and materials, “including 100 percent pure Powderhorn mud,” according to a news release from the resort.

Participants will tackle obstacles with names such as Pig Wallow, Tied Up, Sloppy Joe, Stairway to Heaven, Welcome to the Jungle, Crocodile Crawl, Tunnel Rat, Great Wall of Powderhorn, Three Stooges, Monkey See Monkey Do and No Pain No Gain.

Go to powderhorn.com for The Mud Dash registration information.

Live music will be performed by The Living Wills during the day, then you can catch the first Mountain Man Movie Night at 8 p.m. featuring “Rango” (PG) and an opening short film about rock climbing.

Parking is free, but at 5 p.m. there will be a $2 charge per person for parking at Powderhorn Mountain Resort.
