Suspect arrested after beating in Power Road transient camp
A 41-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of beating a homeless man, breaking his nose and other facial bones, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Rusty Lane Hubbard, a transient, was arrested shortly after 3:30 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of felony menacing and first-degree assault with a deadly weapon after another homeless man was beaten with a wooden stick, Hubbard’s arrest affidavit said.
The 47-year-old victim was assaulted at a transient camp southeast of 140 Power Road, the affidavit said.
Officers said the beaten man also appeared to have suffered a broken right hand and facial lacerations, the affidavit said.
