Suspect faces charges in attack on woman

A 20-year-old Grand Junction man turned himself in to authorities Friday on allegations that he threatened a woman with a kitchen knife and punched her.

Curtis Anthony Bergeron, 2461 F 1/4 Road , No. 241, went to the Grand Junction Police Department shortly before noon Friday after he learned authorities wanted to ask him questions regarding a Thursday incident.

After speaking with investigators, Bergeron was arrested Friday on suspicion of second-degree assault, simple robbery, felony menacing, theft of less than $500, obstruction of a phone, wiretapping, false imprisonment and a misdemeanor warrant for allegedly punching a woman, threatening her with a kitchen knife, forcibly stealing property from the woman, and looking at her cell phone without authorization, said Sgt. Peter Chapola.
