This week in the Legislature, April 15, 2013

The 2013 session of the Colorado Legislature is entering its final month. That means bills will fly fast and furious from one committee to another as legislators rush to get their work done before its May 8 ending date.

■ Today: The House Education Committee will consider a bill to revamp the way the state funds public schools.

■ Tuesday: The Senate Finance Committee will debate several bills related to the state’s enterprise zones, including one to cap how much a single company can claim each year.

■ Wednesday: The Senate Judiciary Committee will hear a bill to create crimes against pregnant woman.

■ Next week: The Legislature is expected to take up the long-awaited measure dealing with the recreational use of marijuana, as called for in Amendment 64.
