This Week in the Legislature, April 30, 2012
This is the last full week of the 2012 legislative session. As a result, what lawmakers have placed on their calendars for the week is subject to wild changes as they move between committees and floor work to get bills passed or kill them.
■ Today: The Senate Business Affairs, Labor & Technology Committee is to hear a bill that would promote the film industry in the state.
■ Tuesday: The Senate State, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee is to debate a bill that would reorganize the Governor’s Energy Office.
■ Wednesday: The House State, Veterans & Military Affairs Committee is to consider a proposed ballot question limiting the state’s homestead exemption tax credit to seniors most in financial need.
■ Thursday: The House Finance Committee is to eye a bill that would offer a sales-tax-free holiday on back-to-school items.
■ Next week: The session ends May 9. Lawmakers in both chambers work on last-minute bills and changes to them.
Scheduled committee hearings are subject to change. All floor action and committees can be watched or heard on the Legislature’s website, http://www.leg.state.co.us.
