Three candidate forums slated

Voters can get their questions answered at candidate forums hosted by three civic groups.

The Fruita Area Chamber of Commerce will host the candidates for the Mesa County Commission, Republicans Craig Meis and Janet Rowland and Democrats Dan Robinson and Dickie Lewis at 7 p.m. Monday at the Fruita Civic Center, 325 East Aspen Ave.. State Rep. Bernie Buescher, D-Grand Junction, and Collbran Republican Laura Bradford also are scheduled to attend the forum.

On Tuesday, the Mesa County League of Women Voters will host Buescher and Bradford for a debate at 6 p.m. at the old Mesa County courthouse, 544 Rood Ave.

Grand Valley Young Professionals will host a forum at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Garden Room at the Commons, 625 27 1/4 Road. The candidates for House District 55 and the two contested Mesa County
Commission races are expected to attend and answer questions.

Rep. Steve King, R-Grand Junction, Sen. Josh Penry, R-Grand Junction, and State Board of Education candidate Marcia Neal, R-Grand Junction, also are scheduled to attend.

Early voting across Colorado starts Oct. 20.
