Three women honored for achievements

An upcoming Women’s Foundation of Colorado luncheon will showcase the achievements of three local women.

Gayle Berry, Susie Maclean and Jeanie Thomas live the foundation’s motto: “Think Big. Be Bold. Make Change.”

They will be honored at the luncheon at noon April 23 at Two Rivers Convention Center, 159 Main St.

The event also will promote the Denver-based foundation’s campaign to empower females. An oversized candy-apple-red purse sculpture will be at the luncheon as part of “Fill the Purse,” a campaign to collect funds for research into why girls drop out of school. Just as loose change collects at the bottom of a woman’s purse, the Fill the Purse campaign symbolizes small donations adding up.

The foundation strives to increase awareness about the needs of women and girls around the state through research, education, advocacy and collaboration.

Tickets for the event are $45 for individuals, $450 and up for a table for 10. Reservations must be made by Friday .

Tickets can be purchased online at Call 303-285-2960 for information or to make a donation.

Looking forward to the luncheon, The Daily Sentinel asked each honoree the same four questions about passion, life and what they keep in their purses.
