Tipton chides Obama on Israel

U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton, R-Colo., is asking other representatives to sign on to a letter chiding President Obama for urging Israel to return to its 1966 borders.

The letter tells the president, “we are extremely disappointed that you took it upon yourself to redefine the borders between Israel and Palestine.”

The United States should be a mediator that does not “further compromise security in an already volatile region,” the letter said.

Tipton is working with Reps. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., and Joe Walsh, R-Ill., to gather signatures from fellow representatives. They plan to send the letter this week.
