Tipton, Gardner to speak in GJ this weekend

U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton and U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner, both Colorado Republicans, will speak Saturday at the spring meeting of Club 20, the Western Slope lobbying and promotional group.

Club 20 will take on a series of issues in the daylong meeting at Two Rivers Convention Center.

Tipton and Gardner are to speak during the morning session, at 8:35 and 9:20 a.m., respectively.

Noel Ginsburg, chief executive officer of Intertech Plastics and the founder of CareerWise Colorado, will discuss ways to align education with workforce development in the morning and at lunch.

Colorado’s rural economy and emerging industries also will be discussed by Brian Lewandowski of the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.

Other business-related topics include a discussion of bringing outdoor-recreation manufacturers to western Colorado and the growth of aeronautics industry on the Western Slope. A panel also is to discuss the uses of hemp and issues surrounding its cultivation.
