Tipton begins to fill staff positions

U.S. Rep.-elect Scott Tipton, R-Colo., hired Scott McInnis’ former chief of staff to head his Washington, D.C., office.

Mike Hesse topped the list of hires Tipton announced days after he defeated incumbent John Salazar.

The 3rd Congressional District is one of the nation’s largest, encompassing most of the Western Slope and much of southern Colorado.

In addition to Hesse, Tipton hired a campaign adviser, Scott Streit, as senior adviser and Jennifer Bailey of Grand Junction as his scheduler.

“My team clearly understands this election was a referendum for government to do more with less,” Tipton said.

Tipton will continue filling staff positions over the next several weeks.
