With one county fair ending, it’s time for another to begin.

The Montrose County Fair began Friday and runs through Sunday, July 28. The Mesa County Fair ended Saturday.

Among the first day’s events at the Montrose County Fair was the 4-H dog obedience show.

In senior open showmanship class 17, Rachel Lund, Montrose, was named grand champion. and Jackie Brown, Montrose, was senior reserve champion, according to a news release from Montrose County’s Katherine Yergensen.

In the senior novice showmanship class 16, Tarron Dotson, Montrose, was grand champion.

Shelena Hawks, Montrose, was intermediate open showmanship class 15 grand champion. Micaiah Thompson, Montrose, was reserve champion.

In junior novice showmanship class 12, Jamie Bellew, Montrose, was named grand champion. and Brittany Smith, Montrose, was reserve champion.
