Road closures and maintenance projects may affect traffic this week:
City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions
■ Gunnison Avenue sewer line replacement project: Gunnison Avenue is closed to through traffic from 15th Street to 24th Street. Access is provided for local residents. Detour route is in place. Anticipated completion is late April.
■ First Street Reconstruction, Ouray Avenue to North Avenue: Speed limit is reduced. There will be lane shifts and flaggers when needed. Access to all businesses is maintained. Anticipated completion is July.
■ 12th Street sewer line replacement project: 12th Street from Pitkin Avenue to Gunnison Avenue, lane shifts and possible traffic delays will be from 7 a.m.– 5 p.m. daily. There will be short-term side street closures with detours in place. Anticipated completion is late May.
■ Pavement striping: North Avenue, from First Street to 29 Road; Colorado Highway 340, from First Street to Willow Ridge Court; 21 1/2 Road, from U.S. Highway 6&50 to I Road. Striping operation will take place 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday– Thursday.
■ Annual spring cleanup program: City streets south of North Avenue, including Orchard Mesa and the Redlands: City crews will pick up debris along street side. Drive slow in areas where crews are working. Short delays can be expected. Project completion is Friday.
Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions
■ Red Canyon sidewalk and pedestrian bridge, Colorado Highway 340 east of Vista Grande Road, Mesa County project: Watch for trucks turning onto and off highway. Speed limit is reduced through construction zone. Anticipated completion is June.
■ 29 1/2 Road Bridge replacement over Grand Valley irrigation canal, Colorado Department of Transportation/Mesa County: 29 1/2 Road is closed to through traffic from Orchard Avenue to Patterson Road. Access is provided for local residents. Detour route is in place. Anticipated completion is June. Info: 640-6129
■ Horizon Drive fiber optics, 12th Street to Horizon Court, private customer: There will be various lane closures during normal work hours. All business access is maintained. Anticipated completion is late April.
■ Colorado National Monument: Crews are working at Half Tunnel to stabilize the road surface and repair the rock retaining walls along various locations. There will be alternating one-lane traffic through the construction zones from 7 a.m.–6 p.m. weekdays. Expect up to 15 minute delays. Flaggers will assist motorists. Anticipated completion is mid-May.

■ Paving, Loma area: 14 Road from O Road to Q Road; 12.50 Road, N Road to M Road; M Road, 12 Road to Colorado Highway 139.
■ Milling, Country Living Trailer Park in Mack: Mill out speed bumps
■ Concrete replacement work: Centennial Drive, Centennial Drive and Texas Avenue, Centennial Drive and Mesa Avenue, Sunrise Avenue and Sandra Avenue, Sunrise Avenue and Texas Avenue.
