Traffic Alert, Dec. 15, 2013

Road closures and maintenance projects may affect traffic this week:

U.S. Highway 340 Bridge (coming into town from the Redlands): Crews will inspect and repair a pipeline suspended below the bridge. Bridge will be restricted to one lane for the northeast-bound traffic only from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday (weather permitting). Expect delays.

U.S. Highway 6 and Interstate 70 Exit 26 Interchange Reconstruction: The Colorado Department of Transportation plans to put traffic into the diverging diamond interchange configuration Tuesday evening, weather permitting. Traffic will still be in a two-lane configuration (one lane in each direction) for a week or so. Work should be completed on the driving lanes by Dec. 23. At that point, U.S. Highway 6&50 will be opened to four lanes (two lanes in each direction) and construction activity will be suspended for the winter. The remaining work to be completed in the spring is off the roadway and will not impact traffic in the travel lanes.

Riverside Parkway at West Avenue: Crews will make sewer line repairs. Riverside Parkway and West Avenue will have various lane closures, possibly 24 hours a day. Expect delays.
