Traffic Alert, May 26, 2013
Road closures and maintenance projects may affect traffic this week:
■ Ute Water Waterline Replacement: Ute Water’s waterline construction will have no impact on traffic along Patterson Road between 28 Road and 28 1/4 Road. Ute Water will start replacing the waterline up 28 Road from Patterson Road to Hawthorne Avenue, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
Through traffic is discouraged, flaggers will be on site to assist local traffic. Traffic delays can be expected.
■ 22 Road Realignment Project: This project is reconstructing one-third of a mile of U.S. Highway 6 between Valley Court and the Exit 26 Interchange. The new intersection will move 500 feet west of its existing location to improve safety and efficiency. A new connecting street will be built linking Valley Court to 22 Road.
There will be lane shifts along U.S. Highway 6, between Valley Court and the I-70 Interchange (Exit 26). The 35 mph speed limit through the work zone will be enforced.
■ Fourth Street Reconstruction: United’s crews were unable to pave Fourth Street last week because of the accident in Glenwood Canyon on I-70. The paving and closure are postponed to Tuesday.
■ Sixth Street Reconstruction: Sixth Street between Grand Avenue and Ouray Avenue will remain closed to all traffic for asphalt paving. Please use alternate route.
■ White Hall Demolition: Sixth Street between Grand Avenue and White Avenue will be closed to all traffic as well as White Avenue between Seventh and Sixth streets from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
■ Asphalt Patching: City crews will be asphalt patching Fifth Street between Grand Avenue and North Avenue with lane closures Tuesday through Friday; and Seventh Street and Glenwood Avenue, expect delays on Wednesday only.
■ Karen Lee Subdivision Street Patching: Asphalt milling Tuesday and Wednesday with asphalt patching scheduled Thursday and Friday for F 1/4 Road from Partee Drive to 29 1/4 Road; 29 1/4 Road from F 1/4 to F 1/2 roads.
Minor delays can be expected.
■ Street striping: City striping crews will be striping the following streets Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday — Unaweep Avenue from U.S. Highway 50 to 29 Road; south of Main Street between First Street and North 27th Street.
