Traffic Alert, May 5, 2013
Road closures and maintenance projects may affect traffic this week:
■ 22 Road Realignment Project: Reconstruction of one-third of a mile of U.S. Highway 6 between Valley Court and the Exit 26 Interchange. The new intersection will move 500 feet west of its existing location to improve safety and efficiency. A new connecting street will be built linking Valley Court to 22 Road.
The first work involves removing the existing median and putting down temporary paving. There will be lane shifts in the work area during the day time. Traffic will move to the outside edges of the road, but two lanes of traffic will be maintained in either direction. Speed limits in the work zone will be reduced to 35 mph.
■ 24 Road Closure from H Road south to the roundabout on May 10: 24 Road will be closed for one day for a sewer service tie-in at a private residence. The closure will be from H Road to the roundabout at Interstate 70. Detours will be marked and will use the frontage road to 23 1/2 Road, north to H Road and back to 24 Road.
