Traffic alert, May 5, 2014
Road closures and maintenance projects may affect traffic this week:
■ Colorado Highway 340 River Bridge (coming into town from the Redlands): Crews will complete the inspection and repair of a pipeline suspended below the bridge by Tuesday. Bridge will be restricted to one lane for the eastbound traffic only (coming into town). Hours of operation will be 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. daily. Expect delays during completion.
■ Seventh Street and North Avenue weekend closures: From 7 p.m. Friday, May 9 until 6 a.m. Monday, May 12, the following streets will be closed while crews install sanitary and storm sewer lines:
Seventh Street between North Avenue and Bunting Avenue in both directions will be closed to through traffic; westbound North Avenue between 12th Street and Seventh Street will also be closed to through traffic.
Eastbound North Avenue through the Seventh Street intersection will be reduced to one lane. Detour route will be in place. Access will be provided for local residents and businesses.
■ Avalon Theatre Project: Southbound Seventh Street between Main Street and Colorado Avenue will be closed periodically to vehicle and pedestrian traffic during normal working hours.
■ 15th Street between Orchard Avenue and Bookcliff Court: 15th Street will be closed for sewer line construction. Detour route will be in place. Access will be provided for local residents.
■ West Independent Avenue between 24 3/4 Road and the 25 Road Overpass: City crews will install a storm drain across West Independent Avenue on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be short-term traffic delays. Alternate routes are advised.
