Road closures and maintenance projects may affect traffic this week:
City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions
■ Street Overlay Project: Crews will adjust manhole covers to grade on Gunnison Avenue from 12th Street to 24th Street. Flaggers will assist motorists. Expect delays. Anticipated completion is October.
■ 28 1/2 Road Sewer and Water Line Replacement: 28 1/2 Road from Interstate 70 Business Loop and North Avenue, will be closed to through traffic. Access is maintained for local residents and businesses. Anticipated completion is November.
Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions
■ I-70 Beavertail Tunnel Lighting Project east of Palisade — CDOT Project: Speed limit reduced to 35 mph. Eastbound I-70 traffic will detour onto service road. No vehicle parking or bicycling on the service road. West- and eastbound traffic can expect single-lane closures from 7 a.m.–5 p.m. weekdays. Anticipated completion is November.
■ I-70B/North Avenue Interchange Project west of First Street — CDOT Project: Expect alternating left and right-lane closures in both directions. Speed limit is reduced to 30 mph. Completion is October.
■ Roadway Striping Project — Grand Junction Regional Airport Project: Includes Aviators Way, Eagle Drive, Walker Field Drive, Falcon Way, and Landing View Drive, Use caution. Anticipated completion is Friday.
Mesa County Projects
■ Paving and shouldering of DS Road: Continues Monday through Friday, about 2 miles west of 16 1/2 Road, for about 3 miles west. It will impact traffic in Colorado National Monument from east entrance to turn-off for DS Road, going to Glade Park. Empty trucks will return to Grand Junction using Little Park Road. Short delays.
