Traffic Alert, April 25, 2010

The following road closures and maintenance projects may impact traffic this week:

D Road is closed to through traffic from the intersection southeast of Monument Road to the south for the replacement of the bridge that crosses No Thoroughfare Wash. Residents and visitors to the Rosevale area will be directed to use South Redlands Road as the detour.  The project will be completed by Aug. 19.

Downtown Uplift: Main Street is closed between First Street and Fourth Street, and the intersection at Fourth and Main streets is closed through May 9. Detour routes include First Street or Seventh Street. Parking is open at the Rood Avenue parking structure and the Colorado Avenue lots. There may be some sidewalk closures while concrete is being poured, but there will be signs directing people to alternative access.

2010 Waterline Replacement Project — Phase 1: Orchard Avenue is closed to through traffic from Seventh Street to Cannell Avenue.  Only residents that live on Orchard Avenue are allowed to use the street.  The detour route uses Bookcliff Avenue from Seventh Street to 12th Street in order to bypass the closure on Orchard Avenue.  The work should be completed at the end of April.

2010 Waterline Replacement Project—Phase 2: Work continues to replace waterlines in 15th Street from Elm Avenue to Bookcliff Court and Patterson Road from Seventh Street to 27 1/2 Road. Closures will be one block at a time, with no through traffic allowed. Detours will be marked. The project will continue through the end of April.

2010 Parkway Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Project: Work continues on construction of a new sewer from the intersection of 15th Street and Winters Avenue south to the Parkway and then west along Struthers Avenue to just west of Fifth Street. The west end of Struthers Avenue is currently closed to traffic. Access to Elam, Randall Industries, B&H Construction and the Botanical Gardens is still open, and may be accessed via Seventh Street to Struthers Avenue. The project will be completed in July.

29 Road between D and D 1/2 Road is closed to through traffic for construction on 29 Road. Paving will begin on the south side of the project on April 26, and will continue throughout the week.
