Traffic alert, July 10, 2011

The following road closure and maintenance project may impact traffic this week:

Sixth Street utility work for Public Safety Building construction: The contractor will be installing conduit across Sixth Street between Ute and Pitkin avenues, Wednesday through Friday.

Xcel Energy gas line work: Nighttime work on gas lines in the following locations between 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.: northbound lane of 25 Road, south edge of Patterson Road through July 12; southbound left turn lane of 25 Road, just north of U.S. Highway 6&50 July 12-16.

Both locations will involve lane closures and possibly the closure of 25 Road during the work hours, with a well marked detour route to follow. The excavations will be steel plated during the daytime hours for traffic to travel over.

29 Road/Interstate 70 Business Overpass: Construction continues on the 29 Road overpass over the Union Pacific railroad tracks and I-70B and includes ongoing frontage road closure east of 29 Road; eastbound and westbound I-70B traffic is shifted to the south near 29 Road; and speed limit in the construction zone is 40 mph — fines are doubled in the work zone.
