The following road closures and maintenance projects may impact traffic this week:
CDOT Widening of Interstate 70 Business
This project will widen I-70B between 24 Road and 24 3/4 Road. Concrete work will continue on the north side of the highway; paving on the intersections will continue through the weekend and until Nov. 4; dirt work on the south frontage road has begun and will continue through Nov. 2; paving of the north frontage road should start Nov. 2 and continue through the week; night work is under way on the lateral storm drains lines and will continue through Nov. 2
Work on the project will be suspended for the Christmas shopping season starting Nov. 17.
2010 Waterline Replacement Project—Phase 3: Paving will continue on North Avenue between 28 1/2 and 29 Road Oct. 31 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. One lane will be provided for traffic in each direction within the work zone
29 Road Overpass: Ongoing frontage road closure east of 29 Road; construction of the road base and median for 29 Road from North Avenue to Teller Avenue; access to the Mesa County Workforce Center will be limited to the driveway on Sparn Street; eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 Business Loop traffic is shifted to the north near 29 Road; daytime lane closures on I-70B will continue; speed limit in the construction zone is 40 mph. Fines are doubled in the work zone.
23 Road and G Road Project: north of G Road, 23 Road will be restricted to a single lane with alternating two-way traffic controlled by flaggers or temporary stop lights. The work zone will be located between G Road and Interstate 70.
Bus pullouts on North Avenue: Four bus pullouts will be constructed on North Avenue between 28 Road and 28 3/4 Road. The outside westbound lane of North Avenue will be closed at 28 3/4 Road. Expect possible traffic delays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through mid-November.
Ute Waterline Replacement on South Broadway: Phase II of the Ute Waterline installation continues on South Broadway in the vicinity of Tiara Rado Golf Course. Construction will head West to 20 1/2 Road, north along 20 1/2 Road to E 3/4 Road, east along E 3/4 Road to 20 3/4 Road, then north along 20 3/4 Road, up to and across Broadway (Colorado Highway 340). Time of completion will be mid-November.
During work hours there will be two flaggers and one lane traffic through the work zone. Expect traffic delays.
