Trailer burns at KOA campground early this morning

Firefighters responded early this morning to report of a fire in a trailer at the KOA campground, 2819 Hwy 50. According to fire officials, crews were able to knock down the fire quickly and limit exposure to nearby trailers and structures.

One person was home at the time of the fire, but he was uninjured in the blaze, according to the department. Officials estimate the value of the damaged trailer at more than $20,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and investigators are looking at portable heater that was purchased yesterday as a potential cause.
