Two held on suspicion of armed robbery, menacing

Two teenagers were arrested Monday on allegations they robbed another person at gunpoint before brandishing a gun at another location on Orchard Mesa, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

Dustin Jay Dees, 19, and Samantha Ann Hanson, 19, both listed in jail booking reports as homeless, were arrested around 8:45 p.m. when they were pulled over in the area of F Road and Entrada in Fruitvale. Police said in a news release the two were in a white vehicle believed to have been involved in separate incidents on Orchard Mesa.

Around 8:10 p.m., a juvenile boy at Dixon Park, 287 27 Road, reported he had been robbed at gunpoint of unspecified property. Police were told the suspects fled in a small white car on Unaweep Avenue.

The suspects were allegedly seen soon after brandishing a handgun at Eagle Rim Park, 27 3/8 Road, police said in the release.

Dees and Hanson were booked on suspicion on aggravated robbery, menacing, misdemeanor theft and resisting arrest.
