Two suspects sought in home burglaries

Grand Junction police are seeking two suspects, possibly juveniles or young men, who broke into a home in the 2600 block of Grand Vista Way early Tuesday morning, waking some residents of the home.

A struggle ensued, and the homeowner was able to temporarily detain one of the suspects, but the person fled, said Kate Porras, Grand Junction Police Department spokeswoman.

Two other north Grand Junction homes were burglarized Monday night or Tuesday morning, one in the 800 block of Trappers Court and another in the 800 block of 26 Road.

Police recovered some of the stolen property, Porras said.

Officers brought in a tracking dog but were not able to attain any leads on the suspects, she said.

Porras said there have been several other burglaries in the north Grand Junction area recently, and police are trying to determine whether the burglaries are connected.
