Unique sounds of South Africans coming

Grammy-award winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo is bringing its signature music to Avalon Theatre.

The South African group performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Avalon Theatre, 645 Main St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo, which famously worked with Paul Simon on his “Graceland” album and more recently joined Josh Groban on his CD “Awake,” sang at the presidential inauguration of Nelson Mandela in 1994 and at two Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies.

Tickets to the Grand Junction concert are $25 and $30. They can be purchased at City Market stores (except the location at First Street and Orchard Avenue), Triple Play Records, Back Porch Music, 243-TIXS and ticketswest.com.
