‘Unsinkable Molly Brown’ buoys museum by $15,000

Two showings of “The Unsinkable Molly Brown” pumped up the coffers of the Museum of Western Colorado by about $15,000, the museum said.

The Lost Theater Troupe put the show on at the Avalon, the second time the troupe has put on a benefit performance for the museum.

The troupe next will put on smaller performances in what has become known as the east wing of the museum, the former Whitman building, beginning with “Assassins,” which delves into the minds of American assassins.

The museum and Lost Theater Troupe’s next Avalon performance will be the musical about the founding of the United States, “1776.”
