Uranium lease comment period extended to July 1

The public comment period for an environmental impact statement regarding the leasing plan for 31 tracts of land on Mesa, Montrose and San Miguel counties has been extended from Friday to July 1.

The draft environmental impact statement is an effort to analyze reasonably foreseeable consequences of a range of alternatives for managing the program.

The comment period was extended in response to a public request for more review time.

The draft statement can be found on the ULP PEIS website, http://ulpeis.anl.gov, and on the DOE National Environmental Policy Act website at http://energy.gov/nepa.

Comments also may be submitted by mail to Ray Plieness, PEIS document manager, Office of Legacy Management,
