Uranium mill vote delayed after hearing

The Montrose County Commission this week decided to continue consideration of a uranium mill proposal on Sept. 30.

Commissioners considered a proposal by Energy Fuels Corp. for its Piñon Ridge Uranium Mill for a second time Wednesday night. They first took up the matter in August after the county Planning
Commission recommended approval.

County Planning and Development Director Steve White said commissioners heard about five and a half hours of public comment on the proposal Wednesday, and probably a couple of hundred people attended.

The mill would be about 12 miles west of Naturita.
