Churchill will give speech at Sherwood Park on Memorial Day
Fired University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill, whose planned Grand Junction appearance at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Memorial Day was rejected by the church, will speak elsewhere in Grand Junction.
Churchill is scheduled to speak at 6 p.m. on Memorial Day in Sherwood Park.
Churchill, who was invited to speak in Grand Junction by the Confluence Media Collective, drew headlines when he compared victims of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, to a Nazi official who organized the Holocaust.
The University of Colorado fired Churchill, citing research misconduct, including plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification.
Churchill is appealing a judge’s court ruling that he not be reinstated.
The Confluence Media Collective noted that Churchill “speaks his mind with a rare clarity, and the conviction of decades of grassroots activism.”
