Victim of motor home fire yet to be identified

Authorities had yet to confirm Friday the identification of the person who died in a fire in a motor home near Glenwood Springs earlier this week.

The victim’s body was found after firefighters knocked down the flames early Tuesday at 589 County Road 113, or Cattle Creek Road, off Colorado Highway 82.

Tanny McGinnis, spokeswoman for the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department, said she didn’t yet have a coroner’s report or a positive identification.

Frank Nadel, assistant chief of the Carbondale and Rural Fire Protection District, said the cause still is being determined.  Colorado Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist in the case.
