Voice activated computer purchased after fundraiser

John Winn performed a benefit concert to help purchase a voice-activated computer for his friend, Dr. Ed Harris.

A group of local musicians came together last February to perform a benefit concert for Dr. Ed Harris.

Harris, who suffers from polio related complications, is a published author who was in need of a voice-activated computer in order to continue writing books.

John Winn, Cullen Purser, John Scott Schultz and Javier de los Santos sold 140 tickets to the concert in order to raise over $1,700 which they used to purchase the computer.

Harris is being taught how to use the computer by his friend, Zach Finel.

It’s been a rewarding learning process, Winn said. He thanked all who attended the concert or donated money to help.
