Vote Palisade as ‘Coolest Small Town’
Cute and quaint Palisade could win the title of “Coolest Small Town 2013,” an annual award given by Budget Travel.
The town was nominated to a growing list of small towns across the nation this week on Budget Travel’s website, but now needs the community to vote to stay in the running.
The site explained that a cool small town must have a population under 10,000, plus something that sets it apart from other rural areas. “In other words, cool doesn’t necessarily mean quaint: We want towns with an edge and a heart,” the site said.
Paonia has also been nominated.
Nomination will be taken through Oct. 15. The top “liked” small towns will be considered by Budget Travel as the top 10 finalists.
If Palisade makes it to round two, voting will start again in January.
