Weather postpones Mesa baseball, tennis

The quick-hitting snowstorm Thursday afternoon caused Mesa State College to scrub Thursday night’s RMAC baseball game against the University of Nebraska-Kearney at Suplizio Field.

Instead, the teams will play a doubleheader starting at 2 this afternoon at Suplizio and another doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The RMAC does not schedule games on Easter Sunday.

Mesa State’s tennis teams were stuck on Vail Pass for more than an hour Thursday because of a rash of accidents on snowpacked roads and arrived in Denver just before 5 p.m. Their matches against Colorado Christian were postponed and coach Dan MacDonald said they plan to play the Cougars later this month in Albuquerque, N.M., the day before the RMAC tournament begins. Mesa plays today at CSU-Pueblo, weather permitting.
