Website: Trump coming here

With the November general election just weeks away, Republican nominee for president Donald Trump is planning a stop in Grand Junction next week, according to the candidate’s official website.

Trump is planning an event for 3 p.m. Tuesday at West Star Aviation, 796 Heritage Way, near Grand Junction Regional Airport, according to Trump’s site. Few other details were available late Wednesday other than he plans a rally, and doors open to the public at noon.

People who would like to attend can sign up for free tickets at donaldjtrump.com/schedule, and click on the Grand Junction event. Tickets are limited to two per mobile number provided to the campaign, and are being issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Trump’s visit comes amid flagging Colorado poll numbers for the candidate, according to the Real Clear Politics poll average for the state.

According to RCP, Trump was actually leading in Colorado on Oct. 1, with a poll average of 43.5 percent over rival Democrat Hillary Clinton’s 43.3 percent. But the most recent RCP poll average taken Oct. 7 shows Clinton with 44.3 percent and just 37 percent for Trump.
