‘Carnival antics?’ Citizen involvement in public governance is an American value however the oil and gas lobby tries to disparage it. Marches.  American democracy in action.  Is Ludham saying any citizen movement that sends people into the street is a ‘carnival’?  Or only those that dare criticize those from whom he gets his paycheck?

Peter, Ludlum is paid to say those things. It is too bad that too many residents of Western Colorado listen to him instead of to the scientists. Having said that, we should be talking about more than just fracking. More wells fail because of bad cement jobs—and there are lots of abandoned wells that are rarely inspected. Who knows how much damage that is doing to our air, water, and soil? Citizens need to be informed and involved. I’m proud to be associated with both Western Colorado Congress and its local affiliate who sent a director, Jake Carpenter to this event. Jake brought back some great photos that are posted at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Western-Colorado-Congress-of-Mesa-County/234337993253041?ref=hl
