In this issue, the local Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, etc…etc. AGREE!  The east side of the state is actually SELLING “their” water rights to industry. This takes that water out of the natural cycle forever.  It is called “extinct” water. It can NEVER be used for drinking again….OK maybe in several ten-thousand year cycles.  The Denver side of the state has to get practical.  The feds are making an agreement with Mexico to provide water denied to them for almost 2 decades. The present diversions are more then enough. Any elected official from this side of the mountains that supports any further west to east movement of one more drop of water should be removed from office.  The Eastern Slope and Plains can raise Hemp….a weed that takes little water, makes beautiful linen and paper, has high-protein seed for food, and produces a healthy and tasty oil for cooking. They can stop growing soy, rice, wheat, and other water-hungry GMO crops.  Put the Buffalo back out on the prairies to support a more natural environment.  Buffalo can eat almost anything and produce a much healthier meat….and they don’t freeze to death unexpectedly like the “domestic” cow of South Dakota. GVIC: We are NOT immune to a call on our water and to believe otherwise is to stick your head in one of the new lined ditches.
