RSSWinefest celebration spreads throughout valley
In honor of Winefest, Le Rouge and Maison La Belle Vie Winery have teamed up to offer a wine pairing dinner in downtown Grand Junction this weekend.
The events associated with the Colorado Mountain Winefest reach farther than borders of Palisade and include food and wine pairings throughout the Grand Valley.
Le Rouge, 317 Main St., has teamed with Palisade vineyard, Maison a Belle Vie Winery to offer an elegant three course wine festival menu.
The dinner will include champagne Mediterranean bisque, beef noisette, Scottish salmon filet, and cherry melba ice cream. The menu advances with the more courses ordered. The wines to be served include Maison Le Bell Vie’s winter blend, cabernet sauvignon, merlot blend, and Vin de Peche.
This is the third year that Le Rouge has celebrated Winefest, said Patrice Petit, chef and owner.
“This is a good event and people love it,” Petit said.
His restaurant only has one wine pairing dinner a year, but the food is served at its finest. “It’s fancy food and we’re proud of it,” Petit said.
The Colorado Mountain Winefest begins Friday with a variety of events located in Grand Junction such as the Enstrom Chocolate and Wine Tasting at 7:30 p.m. At the DoubleTree Hotel. Cost for that event is $55.
On Saturday, shuttle services will begin at 10:30 a.m. into Palisade for the 21st annual event taking place at Riverbend Park. General admission is $43 with various ticket packages available.
Sunday’s events include a free Tour of the Wineries, an “Introduction to Grape Growing” class.
Food and wine pairing events will take place throughout the valley all weekend.
