Woman walking dog finds body

A woman wolfing her dog this morning in the 500 block of Autumn Breeze Drive in Clifton discovered a woman deceased, lying face down, in the front yard of a residence there.

A deputy with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department called the incident a “standard unattended death investigation.”

“It’s unknown if there’s foul play at this point,” said Deputy Garth Cowley.

He described the woman as about 30 years old.

Cowley said the initial call came in at 8:31 a.m., and a few hours later the scene had been cleared and there was no active investigation.
