Woman’s body found in Montrose hotel

MONTROSE— Detectives are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Thursday afternoon in a Montrose hotel room.

The Montrose Police Department did not release the woman’s identity Thursday, pending notice of her family and the results of an autopsy, according to police Lt. Blaine Hall.

Hall said a housekeeper at the Affordable Inn, 1480 S. Townsend Ave., found the woman unresponsive during a routine cleaning of the hotel room.

“At this time, we’re not suspecting any foul play. However, we treat all unattended deaths accordingly,” Hall said.

An unattended death is a death that occurs outside the presence of officials or medical personnel.

“We’re just waiting for the autopsy,” Hall added.
