Wreck kills male driver, 84

An 84-year-old man died when his 2005 Chevrolet Impala went off Colorado Highway 141 near mile marker 143.

The accident, believed to have happened Monday between 6 and 7 p.m., occurred when the man was driving north on Colorado 141 around a curve, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The car went off the west side of the road and rolled down an embankment, coming to rest on its roof and facing east, the State Patrol reported.

The crash was discovered about 10:35 a.m. Tuesday. Speed is considered a factor in the crash, according to the State Patrol, but drugs and alcohol are not, and the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
