You Said It Column November 07, 2008

• As I listen to the news about unregistered sex offenders, my door is knocked on by a sweet young girl, who was alone, selling a local newspaper for a high school. Please, schools, find another way to raise your money.

• I have no problem with the Cox family wanting to sell their peaches instead of letting them set in their cooler and rot. What I do have a problem with is them setting up their semi close to an established fruit stand and then undercutting their price. Surely they could have found a place where they could have sold their peaches without creating a situation for the owners of I-70 Fruit.

• I wonder: First, why people don’t crush cardboard boxes to make room for other trash. Second, why people don’t take down yard sale signs. They put them up. Third, why can’t people cut weeds around mailboxes and bus stops? Fourth, why people don’t know the speed limit on Orchard Avenue is 30 (from one end of town to the other).
