You Said It, Sept. 19, 2010

To the helpful fisherman at Corn Lake: Thank you again for trying to help me with my dead pickup. You were so kind to bring me a bottle of water and offer your cell and hang around until the tow truck arrived.

Club 20 wants citizens to know the candidates and the issues in the election, then they charge $10 to attend a debate to listen to the candidates blow hot air. It will be a very cold day in——when I pay to listen to hot air and false promises.

A day after watching MTV Video Awards, I am still offended by all the disgusting language and obscene appearances. Chelsea Handler with her potty mouth was a very poor choice for emcee. Now I know why country music is the best. You don’t see that kind of trash on the Country Music Awards.

I wish that able-bodied people would cut and remove their weeds. Many people have allergies and must take medication because of weeds and may develop rashes when in contact with weeds.

Thank you to the wonderful gentleman who turned in my purse that I left sitting outside in the cart at City Market downtown.

If the City Council bans medical cannabis centers, they are preventing the right to distribution between caregivers and patients that Colorado voted for a decade ago. Such a despotic move creates a precedent to ban any kind of private business.

Do you want to hear something really scary? I passed an elderly lady going 30 mph on F Road. Speed limit was 45. What was the really scary part is that she was on a cell phone.

To the person who stole my golden eagle statue from my yard on Unaweep Avenue: As a veteran, I made this eagle and was proud to have it in my yard. I enjoyed the eagle very much and hope someday you will be ashamed.

I have been a Democrat for more than 30 years. I’m ready to vote Republican since my cigarette taxes went up by $4 a pack. And I bet I’m not the only one.

While we were at the Olive Garden some weeks ago, a good Samaritan paid for our dinner. Our thanks to whoever it is. We will pass it on.
