Information sought on park damage
Crime Stoppers of Mesa County is looking for information about the person or persons who caused damage valued at more than $2,000 to the men’s and women’s restrooms at Canyon View Park.
Grand Junction police say someone damaged and destroyed windows, bathroom stalls and electrical outlets to the restrooms at the northeast end of the park between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. April 16.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 241-7867 or 800-221-7867. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Two suspected of fleeing from cops
Two men were arrested late Monday night after they fled from an officer who attempted to contact them for trespassing in Williams Park, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Jeston C. Jones, 24, 1330 Glenwood Ave., No. 2, and Justin Triplett, 22, address unknown, were arrested on suspicion of trespassing and obstructing a peace officer.
Jones, who was the driver of the vehicle they had been in, had his license revoked as a habitual traffic offender, police said.
Triplett, who was a passenger, was found in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
• Dustin Harrison, 20, 318 W. Highland Drive, was arrested Tuesday at First Street and Orchard Avenue on suspicion of menacing with a deadly weapon, reckless endangerment and violating a restraining order.
• Someone stole a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am from the 900 block of North Seventh Street on Tuesday.
• Someone stole items valued at more than $1,000 from a vehicle in the 2600 block of North First Street on Tuesday.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
• Matthew Wells, 23, of Dolores was arrested Tuesday at the Mesa County Justice Center on a warrant alleging theft of less than $500 and providing false information on a pawn slip.
• Cheryl Turner, 55, 903 Grand Ave., was arrested Tuesday at the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant alleging theft of less than $500 and first-degree forgery.
• Someone threw a rock at a vehicle in the 400 block of Mae Street on Tuesday, causing an estimated $400 in damage.
• A man living in the 1800 block of 6 Road reported Tuesday that more than $600 in property was stolen from his garage.
