Kids arrested on Halloween
Grand Junction police reported two youth arrests Halloween night.
Officers arrested and released a 14-year-old around 9 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia at 28 1/4 Road and North Avenue. Around 2 a.m. Sunday, officers arrested a 17-year-old and booked him into the Division of Youth Corrections on suspicion of consuming alcohol, carrying drug paraphernalia, violating a restraining order and breaking a window in the 300 block of Fairview Avenue.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
• Someone entered a room at the El Rio Rancho Motel, 730 S. U.S. Highway 50, Sunday and removed prescription medication without permission.
• It was reported Sunday a thief took property from Whiskey River, 490 28 1/4 Road, and used a stolen financial transaction device to purchase merchandise from multiple locations.
• Officers arrested and released Alan Thompson, 59, on suspicion of harassment Saturday at 1550 S. U.S. Highway 50.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department:
• A vandal damaged a vehicle’s windows Sunday at 433 Country Side Lane, causing $650 in damage.
• A vandal threw a rock through the back window of a car parked at the intersection of Colorado Highway 330 and Colorado Highway 65 Sunday. The cost of the damage is estimated at $400.
According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department:
• Jarid Jason Thistle, 29, and Vance Ryan Wilson, 31, were arrested Thursday in Parachute on suspicion of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia possession, driving a defective vehicle, displaying fictitious plates, failing to provide proof of insurance, and driving with a suspended, revoked or denied license.
• Deputies arrested Matthew Albert Latil, 22, of Glenwood Springs, and Tara Iva Davis, 26, of Carbondale, Saturday in Glenwood Springs on suspicion of criminal impersonation, speeding, unlawful possession a controlled substance, failing to provide insurance and driving with a restricted license.
